What is Fukagawa-meshi?
Originally rooted in the "bukkake-meshi," a meal eaten by Fukagawa fishermen supported by the rich fishing grounds of Tokyo Bay during their work breaks, it is characterized by a simple yet deep flavor using fresh clams and long green onions.
At food stalls, it is served as a poured-over style with broth, while at home it has spread as a seasoned rice dish. Over time, changing its form, it has been passed down as a representative specialty dish of Fukagawa.
