The pot contains two types: 'Karinto' and 'Mayuzumi'.

Karinto is glossy like glass, and its beautiful appearance is a characteristic feature of Kagetsu’s karinto.
The unique texture of crispy on the outside and crunchy on the inside is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, including finely crafted dough and triple frying in oils at different temperatures.

Mayuzumi is a black karinto made with black sesame. Since it uses plenty of black sesame paste, when you take a bite, the firm texture is accompanied by the soft and gentle aroma of black sesame that spreads throughout your mouth.

Yushima Kagetsu, the maker of 'TOKYO DOROMPA Karinto,' began in the early 1940s when they opened a small traditional candy shop in Yushima, Tokyo, a place full of stylish and spirited charm.

Unlike the typical karinto made with brown sugar, their karinto is made by boiling white sugar until it becomes caramel, which is then coated onto the dough, giving it a jewel-like appearance. The crispy exterior and the crunchy interior texture when bitten into are unique features of Yushima Kagetsu’s karinto.
