Belongs to Thai League Division 1. Established in 1988 as "BANGKOK UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL CLUB", and changed the team name to "BANGKOK UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB" in 2009.
Finished in 2nd place in Thai League Division 1 in 2016, and participated in the AFC Asia Champions League play-off in 2017.
Home stadium is Thammasat Stadium.
