【Player/Coach Comments】

A dramatic comeback with only 4 minutes remaining. A thrilling victory, a major upset on enemy territory!!

As the culmination of the Spain expedition, the Juan ALANO Cup (Juan ALANO is a former star player of Deportivo La Coruña) was held. Tokyo, aspires to emulate Deportivo's tactics, and the players and staff, led by Coach Hara, were looking forward to seeing how well they could showcase their own style of football.

The game started with Tokyo aggressively attacking the opponent. On the other hand, Deportivo seemed to be cautiously defending, trying to figure out Tokyo's strength. Kelly displayed his full potential, evading both Sergio Duscher and Mark in the midfield and passing the ball to the front line. However, the strong defense line prevented any decisive opportunities. After 15 minutes, Deportivo gradually started to show their strength. Bareron appeared at crucial moments and made through passes. There were some dangerous situations, but our defense line, including Mr. Shioda, did not allow any scoring chances. The first half ended with a score of 0-0.

As the second half began, Deportivo made substitutions. In the 17th minute, on the right side, Munitis passed to Valerón in the center. Valerón played a one-two with Tristan in a tight space in front of the goal, and then sent another short through ball to Victor. Victor broke through the defensive line, became free, and scored the opening goal. However, just when it seemed the momentum would shift, in the 18th minute, Baba on the right side made a vertical through pass. Lucas received it, cut inside to evade the defender, and shot; the goalkeeper deflected it, but it became the equalizing goal. After that, La Coruña, not wanting to end like this, aggressively launched an attack. Tokyo, showing signs of fatigue, made substitutions to bring in fresh players. Both teams created chances but couldn't convert, and it seemed like it would end in a draw and go to penalties. In the 41st minute, Lucas made a through pass in front of the goal, but it was deflected by the defender. However, Kajiwara reacted to the loose ball. He got his body in front of the opponent to win the ball, took a touch, and shot. The shot taken from outside the penalty area arced, grazed the goalkeeper's hand, and went in. A dramatic turnaround goal brought a huge cheer from the stands and the bench. After that, including stoppage time, they withstood Deportivo's fierce attacks for nearly 10 minutes, and the match ended, achieving a remarkable victory against a strong opponent on their home ground.
