Hokkaido Shiraoi Town Camp Report DAY 12

July 25 Report

On the final day of the Hokkaido Shiraoi camp, training was held behind closed doors, concluding the 12-day camp. Since this summer camp, held for the first time on the northern land, mainly consisted of training matches, daily practices focused on specific themes for both offense and defense, involving repetitive drills to deeply ingrain them into the players' bodies.

In attack, more time was devoted to organizing side attacks and practicing shots from crosses in an effort to increase goals scored from cross balls.

Furthermore, in defense, the team reviewed area-specific defending including high pressing, blocking in the middle zone, and dealing with crosses. Detailed agreements were also presented, with plans to continue repetitive practice after returning to Tokyo.

Coach Matsuhashi, who has set the goal of winning the J1 League for the first time, said, "You can't compete with the same 11 players throughout a long season," and has been demanding an overall improvement of the team. The competition for regular positions in each role was fierce, and while the oldest player, Masato MORISHIGE, quietly burned with determination, the younger players also shone brightly in these 12 days.

On August 8, two weeks from now, the 2026/27 J.League season, reborn under the autumn-spring system, will finally kick off. A new everyday life of blue and red, where you can enjoy FC Tokyo matches on weekends, is about to begin.

For the final day of the camp, we selected a group photo with everyone from Shiraoi Town who took care of us over the 12 days.

In addition to the rich nature and delicious food, the warmth of the people of Shiraoi Town made for a fulfilling camp. While we already miss Shiraoi beef and fresh seafood a little, after returning to Tokyo, we will enter the final phase of preparation at Kodaira Ground aiming for our first Meiji Yasuda J1 League championship.
