INTERVIEW 2024.1.26

2024 CAMP REPORT & INTERVIEW
vol.5 Kota TAWARATSUMIDA

After recovering from the practice match and adjusting their condition, the team conducted a second division practice today. The players were required to have high intensity and quick decision-making skills in each session.

In the ball possession drill, we confirmed how to build up attacks from the sides. We focused on using the width of the pitch to attack, skillfully bypassing the quick checks of the defense players.

After that, we conducted training in a practical format. Coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI himself moved the ball and gave instructions on where to aim for passes from the back of our own territory. We also confirmed how the team as a whole can work together to achieve our goal of breaking down the opponent's defense and winning the ball in high positions.

During the afternoon training, we focused on set plays, which are particularly important during this camp period. The attacking side worked on how to position themselves in front of the goal in response to the supplied ball. On the other hand, the defensive side carefully confirmed how to set up in order to not give the opponent any freedom.

After practice, AJINOMOTO CO., INC. held a nutrition seminar for us, where they talked about when to consume various products such as Amino Vital before and after practice and games, as well as key points for maintaining high performance.

After the end of practice, an interview was conducted with player number 33, Kota TAWARATSUMIDA.

Q, What points are you focusing on during this camp?
A, I feel that things have been progressing smoothly since the camp started. I am focusing on improving the accuracy of crosses and shots, which are crucial in the final phase, and I am consciously working on clearing these challenges even during individual practice. I believe the results of this accumulation were also reflected in the practice match against FC Ryukyu. During this camp, I feel it is important to level up all of my abilities, and I want to further enhance the quality of my play from here.

Q, I think there were many gains with the two goals in the match against Ryukyu.
A, I think it was a goal where I was able to successfully connect with a cross from the right side. I feel that both goals were something the team was able to take together. I’m happy to have scored in a good situation, and next, I want to break through the situation with individual skills and link that to scoring.

Q, The two goals were born from cooperation with Ryotaro ARAKI. It shows a good compatibility between you.
A, I have very good compatibility with Araki during play, and we are able to communicate on the field. He passes the ball at just the right timing, so I personally feel it makes things easier for me.

Q, How will you proceed towards the start of the league with the addition of players such as Keita Endo and Tsuyoshi Ogashiwa, and the intensifying competition for positions?
A, I want to focus on myself and play for the team, and I have absolutely no intention of losing in the competition for positions, so I will do my best to be able to participate in matches from the start of the season.
